The Kindle

A while ago, in a previous incarnation, I blogged about my desire for a portable electronic device for reading books - not too heavy or cumbersome, with straight forward controls and about the size of a paperback.

Well I think I have found something to what I was looking for... The Kindle

I think it only works with amazon products and you can not download your own e-books onto it, but that maybe the next version. Who knows?

Cheers

Have a look at the prices for the philosophy books!

You can download books for your Kindle from a wide variety of sources. I've had my kindle for about 4 months, and have about 80-90 books on it. None of those books have been purchased from Amazon; there's an amazing variety of free open source e-books out there!

Have you heard of the Iliad, Waz? I have my heart set on one of these.

Here is a list of e-readers that are out on the (U.S) market. Also, take a look at the Plastic Logic.

If the Plastic Logic were a little smaller... though I think the iLiad is still the best on the market.
